Dear Hiring manager,
I am writing to apply for a tour guide position at your company. I am a highly focused lady with a strong sense of personal responsibility on the job. I strongly believe that we are all “History Makers”, which makes me more passionate about our history and culture. I am confident in my communication skills and ability to deliver as well as engaging guests in memorable experiences.
I have experience in the hospitality industry as a waiter for 7 years. I have developed efficiency and great communication skills. I have mastered the art of multi-tasking, problem solving and keeping the energy high. I have learnt how to keep people smiling by throwing a joke here and there or giving a great recommendation be it a dessert or a juicy steak. I am confident that armed with these people skills, a shot of my love for history and culture and a step into the tour guiding world.
In my current role as a waiter at Foresters Arms, I have served diverse groups, students, tourist and locals, providing service tailored for them considering the age, interests and cultural background. The role has taught me that hospitality is not about carrying food and drinks to the guest only. I have learnt that it’s about being able to read the atmosphere in the room and being able to change it for the better be it putting a smile or comfort and a slight gesture even without a word said.
I learnt how to connect with people as well as relate and create a bond with guests from all walks of life. I have learnt how to make everyone feel valued and heard. I thrive to provide the guests with great service delivery and good memories.
I know how to stay calm even under pressure, smile and make sure that everyone is well taken care of.
I am passionate about being a tour guide because I love sharing stories, creating memories, making discoveries and making people feel at home even away from home. I also love learning from the guests and exploring their different cultures. With my experience in hospitality I have mastered multitasking, problem solving and being able to work under pressure. I believe with the same skills I will be able to thrive as a tour guide where every day is a new day full of surprises and fun.
It will be an honor for me to join your team as I believe it will help me grow and am willing to learn more about tour guiding.
Yours Sincerely,
Moira Judith Katsere.
