Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of various machinery and equipment.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Lead and participate in projects aimed at improving equipment performance and reliability.
- Utilize advanced technical skills in welding, machining, and fabrication to support engineering projects.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD and other design software.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in safety training programs.
Qualifications:
Education:
- NQF Level 3 Diploma
- Level 2 3-phase electrical qualified national diploma
Technical Skills and Certifications:
- Qualified thermos welder for railways
- Basic PLC programming
- Binder brake advanced training
- Garner cross advanced hydraulic training
- Festo advanced pneumatic training
- Man lift and man gauge qualified
- Oils and grease (Engen and Shell) advanced training
- Laser alignment and motor installation qualified
- Gearbox assembly and maintenance training (4 years with German-based companies)
- Everetz commissioning group (3 years training in mill lubrication and circuits)
- Milling and machining (10 years of experience)
- Plasma cutting, fabrication, and welding (15 years of experience)
- AutoCAD and other drawing/designing programs (13 years of experience)
- Height and safety rescue training
- Level 3 firefighting training completed
- Level 3 medical assistance training completed
- Mobile crane, forklift, and cherry picker training and qualified to operate and maintain
Experience:
- Proven track record of successfully leading maintenance and repair projects.
- Extensive experience in mechanical maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
- Demonstrated ability to improve equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Strong background in milling, machining, and fabrication.
