My career at Sasol began in 2018, in the capacity of a Mechanical Apprentice Fitter. At the end of my training, I was employed as a fitter in the Mechanical Maintenance workshop of Sasol Refining plants in 2021/10/01 . My core responsibilities were to maintain, all the rotating and statutory equipment.

I am serving my time as a fitter within the refining environment and progressed through the ranks, becoming a Grade1 Fitter in a short space of time. I am working the biggest refinery plan in south Africa were I am working with heavy/complex equipment doing maintenance and repairing .I am a very dedicated person I become permanent at Sasol after I have finished my apprenticeship

• Perform Acting duties as a Group leader. 
• Attend daily PDR meetings. 
• Take part and contribute in RCA’s and PDA’s. 
• Load and release PR’s and notifications for defects arising from plant inspections. 
• Capture overtime and standby allowances and approve leave requests, whilst performing acting duties. 
• Ordering of consumables and PPE. 
• Audit QC reports completed during equipment general overhauls. 
• Revise and compile new QC documentation for critical equipment. 
• Supervise junior artisans and contractors during general and preventative maintenance and repairs to all defective rotating and statutory equipment on the Refining East and West plants, including all of the Refining plants. 
• Supervise contractors during general overhauling of all simple and complex rotating and stationary equipment according to equipment drawings and O.E.M specifications using detailed Q.C checklists. 
• Train, coach and mentor junior artisans and learners.
• General and preventative maintenance and repairs to all defective rotating and statutory equipment on the Refining East and West plants, including all of the Co-monomer plants and Safol.
• Conduct plant inspections as per prescribed inspection checklists. 
• Replenishment of depleted lubrication levels and replacement of contaminated lubrication filters, on various plant equipment e.g. pumps, compressors, gearboxes, fin-fans, blowers, hydraulic system pumps, material handling and valves. 
• General overhauling of all simple and complex rotating equipment according to equipment drawings and O.E.M specifications using detailed Q.C checklists. 
• Execution of modifications and upgrades on all rotating and statutory equipment. 
• Ordering and following up of material and spares needed for plant equipment. 
• Tracking, receiving, tagging and bagging material and spares, for execution of tasks. 
• Trouble shooting, trending and problem solving of problematic equipment. 
• Perform independent pressure testing and service testing on various plant equipment e.g. Heat exchangers, vessels, tanks, drums and piping. 
• Execution of shut down activities as per plan and schedule. 
• Attend to breakdowns quickly and safely.
• Perform isolation and lockout procedures 
• Create PM order detailing item to be drawn from stock
• Create notification on SAP
• Perform standby
