Area Sales Manager – Tekkie Town Namibia at Pepkor Speciality (2021-03 – 2026-06)
Consist of 10 stores. Responsible for managing Key Performance Areas across Sales, Cost Control, Store Profitability, Corporate Governance Compliance, Stock Management, Customer Service, and Leadership.
- KPA 1 – SALES: Deliver 100% to sales target, deliver LFL growth to target, manage trading densities growth, manage lay buy performance with net activation and completion percentages to turnover, manage TT Account Card new account activation
- KPA 2 – COST CONTROL: Effectively use monthly management reports (budget, exception, etc), manage store costs within budget, manage warrior days off owing (positive & negative days), manage warrior leave and overtime
- KPA 3 – STORE PROFITABILITY: Deliver store profitability >25%, manage store operating expenses <20% turnover, manage unprofitable stores <2% turnover, manage stockloss <0.45% turnover, manage store salary costs at 7.5% salaries and 1% incentives
- KPA 4 – CORPORATE GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE: Ensure consistent compliance to financial and procedures including stock management, auditing & stocktake practices, asset control, Labour Relations Act, OHASA, Employment Equity, Basic Conditions of Employment Act
- KPA 5 – STOCK MANAGEMENT: Effectively use merchandise reports (OSL/MSL, etc), manage store forward planning, manage aging stock levels <10% of stock value through IBT execution & compliance and management of factory & hybrid stores within markdown budget
- KPA 6 – CUSTOMER SERVICE: Drive #GREAT customer service (in-direct) at all levels, execute on VM principles and store standards, ensure promotions launched on time to correct standards, execute results on mystery shopper feedback
- KPA 7 – LEADERSHIP: Effective team management, responsible for recruitment and selection, develop and manage succession plan for direct reports, drive & facilitate team culture, values and principles in line with company culture
Regional Visual Merchandise Manager at Edgars Africa Region (2019-06 – 2020-12)
Namibia, Botswana & Zambia region consisting of 12 stores. Provide leadership across stores by ensuring effective implementation of the Chain's visual, customer service and merchandise strategies so that stores consistently contribute to superior customer service standards and achieve required profitability targets.
- Deliver on Chain's strategy by developing and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders through effective communication and business partners
- Build and maintain effective partnerships with divisional visual manager, merchandise and marketing teams to ensure visual standards are represented across stores within area of responsibility
- Partner with Store Managers to execute store visual merchandise plans in line with visual strategy for all stores in geographical node
- Partner with store management to manage visual merchandise strategy within stores
- Build and maintain partnerships with Regional & Divisional Managers to ensure visual standards within stores are managed in line with required standards
- Obtain promotional and Visual marketing briefs from Divisional Visual, merchandise and marketing teams for implementation within stores
