I had worked at Mediclinic since June 2013, I completed all the below mentioned qualification on a part time basis at Mediclinic. I obtained experience in the medical, surgical, orthopaedic, maternity, paediatric, theatre, ICU, ACU, renal departments during first my training as an Enrolled Nurse and then again during my training as a Registered Nurse. During my Registered Nurse training we shadowed a Unit Manger for a month and completed a management portfolio.

During my training I was the student representative for my class at the hospital that I worked at. Since I qualified, I have worked in a haematology/oncology department. I have observed a stem cell harvest as well as a plasma exchange.

I currently work in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, which is a unit that operates as a High Care Unit for Haematology/Oncology patients. In November of 2020 I started working in the cardiac Catheterization lab at Netcare Christiaan Barnard Hospital. I began by learning how to scrub for procedures and scrubbed for angiograms, interventions, pacemakers, ablations, heart studies and biopsies for heart transplant patients.

I was part of a call out team that worked after hours for any emergencies e.g., STEMI's. In May 2021 I transferred to the Chemotherapy suite at Christiaan Barnard Hospital. In this unit we administer chemotherapy as well as performing blood transfusions and venesections.

I work at Netcare as a Case Manger sending updates to the Medical aids via SAP and UMS. We also use the online health code index to code the cases for fund review as well as using our online patient information system to provide medical information to update the funds.

I worked at Melomed Tokai as a case manager, I updated and conveyed patient condition and continued medical requirements for care to the medical aids via the UMS and Clinic manager systems.
