As a seasoned Internal Audit Specialist with over twenty years of experience, I bring a unique blend of expertise in internal audit, risk management, and public sector supply chain management. A few years ago, I transitioned into a core business role to gain first-hand insight into the strategic and operational aspects of the public sector procurement value chain. This experience has significantly broadened my perspective, and I am now eager to return to the Internal Audit profession—bringing with me a holistic understanding of the business and enhanced advisory capabilities.

I have held managerial roles in Auditing and Supply Chain Management respectively at various institutions including the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA). In these roles, I successfully led initiatives to strengthen governance, risk, and compliance frameworks while streamlining business processes to enhance operational efficiency as well as overseeing public procurement, PFMA compliance, and SCM governance.

My MBA, combined with my recent CIA certification and deep experience in public sector operations and strategic leadership, equips me to deliver value-added insights and drive continuous improvement within Internal Audit functions. I am particularly interested in opportunities that leverage my strengths in strategy, GRC, internal controls, and process optimization.

My background includes management roles at the SABC, IRBA, and Johannesburg Water, where I managed assurance activities and improved governance processes. My experience spans both assurance and advisory roles, giving me deep insight into internal audit, Governance Risk Compliance frameworks, and supply chain governance environment. I’ve also acted as Head of General Assurance Audit and Head of SCM at the SABC, giving me an integrated view of leadership, strategy, governance, assurance, systems and processes and compliance. My passion lies in restoring sound governance, driving ethical leadership and enabling strategy through effective risk-based auditing, which aligns closely with the core mandate of this role.

My time at SABC allowed me to gain deep insight into governance challenges within a highly regulated and public-facing organization. I implemented governance frameworks for supply chain and risk management, reduced irregular expenditure, and spearheaded digital transformation initiatives. This gave me a unique perspective on managing compliance while still driving operational efficiency.

With further career exposure to SCM value chains at the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors and Johannesburg Water, I bring not only practical experience but also enhanced technical and strategic internal audit expertise to this role.

I am a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with an Masters of Business Administration and over 20 years of experience in auditing, governance, risk management, and compliance in the public sector.
