Started my rigging apprentice-ship in February 1994. I was trained on splicing steel and fiber ropes, machinery movement using rollers, load transfer using a combination of lifting tackle and machinery. Load calculations, using "A" frames, tripods, derrick poles, scaffolding, rigging studies and inspection of equipment. I was also trained on both mobile and overhead cranes. In 1996 I qualified as a rigger with a B symbol from Olifantsfontein.
Rigging Apprentice / Rigger at Highveld steel (1994-02 – 1994-12)

Rigging Mechanician at Highveld steel (1996-06 – 2000-06)
Post qualification period. I was appointed as a rigging mechanician for 9 rotary kilns.
Rigging Instructor at Highveld steel (2000-06 – 2004-12)
My primary responsibility was to train rigging apprentices until successful attainment of rigging qualification "trade test". In total I had 47 apprentices over 4 years and none of them failed their trade test.
Rigger / Rigging Supervisor at Eduardo Construction (2005-01 – 2005-06)
I worked at Eduardo construction in various positions depending on the need at that particular time. I was a rigger or a rigging supervisor at Eskom power stations mostly in Mpumalanga province. I also worked at Sasol refineries in Sasolburg undertaking various projects. This was a contract job.
Dragline Rigger at Anglo coal (Klein kopje colliery) (2005-07 – 2007-04)
I worked in this colliery as a dragline rigger.
Rigging Supervisor at Rotek Engineering (2007-05 – 2008-03)
Employed as a rigging supervisor at Rotek engineering and managing riggers in all the Eskom power stations in RSA.
Senior Rigger / Principal Rigger at Sentech (Sender Technology) (2008-04 – 2014-01)
I started as a senior rigger and later promoted to the Principal rigger position.
Rigging Foreman / Expat Rigging Trainer at Frontier mine (2014-02 – Present)
Rigging foreman at frontier mine. Currently involved with training department as an expat rigging trainer for the mine.
