As a teacher, I believe in teaching that inspires learning and fosters the acquisition of isiZulu subject content as meaningful knowledge. I believe in the lesson design that caters for multi-intelligences of learners and use of ICT in the classroom. This makes me a teacher who uses teaching methods that are learner centred, interactive and engaging at all levels of BLOOM’s taxonomy.
I have five years of teaching experience, three years and four months of which are in the teaching of isiZulu FAL under the IEB curriculum. During these three years, I have been a marker for IEB National Senior Certificate final examination. I successfully designed the subject introductory curriculum aligned with my employer's vision for the subject and the IEB curriculum standards.
I have taught, set assessments and moderated assessments for senior and FET phases. I have designed and reviewed teaching and assessment plans. I have taken part in book control and lesson moderations in my department.
My highest qualification is Master of Arts in African languages with speciality is isiZulu. I also hold a Bachelor of Education in Senior and FET phases with specialities in isiZulu, Accounting and Economics. I am registered with SACE. I am a skilled and experienced user of Thinking Maps and Kegan Cooperative Learning and Teaching Strategies. I have also advanced my pedagogy of African languages through IEB endorsed workshops.
