Drive with the utmost safety and care to minimise the risk of road traffic accidents and hazards. When driving duties involve dialogue with customers and general public, ensure that they are shown the utmost courtesy, respect and consideration.
- Care for and ensure the economic use of company vehicles when driven
- Be alert for traffic conditions and road congestion making appropriate changes to routes to avoid unnecessary delay
- Avoid traffic fines and infringements by driving carefully and safely. Park in such a manner as to avoid both distress to others and parking fines and penalties. Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
- Complete daily vehicle inspection reports and trip sheets and keep vehicles clean
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles immediately to management and carry out daily vehicle checks
- Use and maintain the tools and equipment found on commercial vehicles, such as weighing and measuring devices
- Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to management
- Ensure no unauthorized use of any company vehicle (I.E., driving without permission, conveying of passengers, driving off route)
- Perform emergency repairs such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, and fuses when required
- Adhere to all rules and regulations and SOP's set out by the company
- Vehicles must be refuelled at the end of each day after all deliveries have been made. No exceptions and all fuel slips returned to the ops admin person
- Ensure that your mobile device has the updated software and is fully charged at all times, and carry a mobile charger at all times
- Ensure timeous delivery of orders to customers
- Ensure failed deliveries are less than 2%
- Ensure accurate receiving of returns from customers
