My love for creating meaning, engaging in authentic communication, and intuitively understanding personalities and cultures different to my own has accentuated my clearest life orientation, helping others.
After completing a four-year bachelor’s degree in psychology (Honours), I taught English for three years in Taiwan. This experience forged an appreciation of foreign culture, and a strong ability to communicate cross-culturally in any context. On returning to South Africa, I ran my own management consultancy in organizational development.
Our work focused on helping businesses in actionable, productive and meaningful ways to change how they communicate, and so doing, improve their results. I am geared, skilled and excellent at communicating with people across cultural, geographical, and psycho-social differences.
I am self-motivated, and independent yet deeply conscientious about delivering on my commitments and adding value beyond just meeting expectations. This is how I am wired. I became a mother and remote work offered me the ability to balance this work ethic with a real quality of life, being present as a mother for my young family.
My practise as an Integral therapist has ignited a desire to contribute my skills to a broader landscape of capacity building. My years of experience in facilitating, teaching, training and coaching all ages makes me a communicator with high creativity and compassion. Moreover, my background in psychology and organizational development would make me an asset to your team.
As a People Specialist, my work has always involved building capacity in people and teams within their private lives, cultures, and organizations, blending the fields of Mental Health, Education and Organizational Development. I started with an organizational development consultancy which aimed at improving human coordination through coaching senior management and leadership to enhance business performance. Parenthood then changed my career path and with my background in Developmental Psychology, I transformed my focus to Integral Psychotherapy.
I believe helping people change and transform their capacities requires holistic support from multiple perspectives and systems internally and externally. As a People Specialist, I fuse my experience in organizational development with psychotherapy to help transform professionals and teams in their work.
I have two degrees from the University of Stellenbosch: firstly, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work, Psychology and Religious Studies (1997-1999); secondly, in Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Psychology in which I achieved distinctions (2000).
I was accepted on the Californian CIT Global Training Online programme under the guidance of Integral Psychologist Mark Forman PhD (2021-2023), certifying as an Integral Therapist.
