I have 15 years of sea freight imports experience in LCL, break bulk and general containerized cargo, oil and gas as well as hazardous cargo. I have indept knowledge in freight forwarding and can perform all import functions, detention cancellations, bookings, releases, deliveries etc.
I have extensive knowledge of over border project management, required documentation, border posts, clearance processes, vehicle requirements for both in gauge and abnormal loads, I have handled numerous abnormal and project shipments and sourced vehicles according to client requirements and pricing. I have handled all modes of transport both import and exports, attaining services of third-party representatives for port and warehouse load outs, lashing of cargo in accordance with road regulations, arranging of border clearances and client quotations / estimates.
I have a strong import, export and forwarding background, I am experienced in all importation functions, incoterms, delivery planning and co-ordination. I specialize in cross border transportation of mining equipment, structural steel and machinery both OOG and in gauge. I possess good leadership skills and have worked as a senior controller.
I have experience in warehouse receiving of cargo and load outs of cargo, ensuring cargo is stacked to a safe height, floor space is utilized efficiently in a profitable manner, tally and load out of general cargo, I have experience in managing staff and ensuring processes are carried out in accordance with health and safety requirements as well as company SOP.
I am capable of performing any role relating to imports, project controlling / management and cross border trade and am more than capable of filling a supervisory or management function if afforded the opportunity, I have executed many mining projects, distribution of food aid cargo into Africa for WFP and the UN. I have Handled large accounts including Transnet Engineering, Huawei, with the Medupi power station being one of the most memorable projects I was a part of.
