I am an experienced entrepreneur / consultant with sound expertise in retail, sales, marketing and business development built over a period of 10 years as an ENGEN dealer. In addition, I possess great insight and knowledge in editorial research and magazine editing coupled with 5 years working experience in that field. I am a Bachelor of Arts graduate from the University of the Western Cape [UWC], with majors in Psychology and English, a qualification that has greatly assisted in honing my skills as a strong people manager and leader.
As a Pub Owner I had to manage Sales Inventory, hire, train and oversee staff, lead day to day operations, ensure bar cleanliness, health, safety, and environment quality, conduct marketing and promotions, and build sales relationships with clientele and suppliers.
I was also employed as a forecourt manager at ENGEN Settler’s Way Service Station. Before that I had a Pub and Restaurant that I co-owned with the landlord. I was responsible for the day to day running of the business.
A key player in an exciting industry’s supply chain, my role has exposed me to mainstream organizational functions, such as human resources [human capital management], health, safety and environment quality, finance, sales, and value chain management (to name a few).
