• Work integrated learnership, including: 
• Routine inspection of businesses, specifically relating to enforcement and legislation with regard to lighting, ventilation, house-keeping, occupational health & safety act policies, health care risk waste management, etc, in order to determine if there has been compliance.
• Sites visited: formal food establishments, creches, crematoriums, land-fill sites, informal traders, scrapyard, clinics, and an insecticide manufacturing plant. Further knowledge on EIA/SAP/MHI.
