I am a highly motivated professional with over 10 years of experience in the environmental field.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Environmental Management. I recently obtained my
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Environmental Monitoring and Modeling. Majored in environmental remote sensing, which provides a tool for monitoring and analyzing environmental changes on a large scale. I was appointed at the National Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment on a one year contract under the Waste Licensing Directorate where I was responsible for reviewing Waste Management Applications, Basic Assessment Reports, Scoping &
Environmental Impact Reports and prepare and draft a decisions on waste applications, WML variations, WML surrenders, WML transfers of ownership, S24G rectifications and WML renewals,
conducting facility site visits regarding waste management activities.
I have extensive knowledge of the National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 of 1998)
and National Environmental Management: Waste Act (Act 59 of 2008) and its associated regulations, as well as the ability to interpret and apply them in a practical and compliant manner.
In both my public and private sector experience to date, I am responsible for compliance with all environmental permits, waste management licences that are triggered by all related Acts. ensure no deviation from the conditions of the environmental authorization. If there are any deviations,
enforce rectification and conduct more awareness and training as part of duty of care.
Conduct External Audit, compiling Environmental Management Plan/Programme (EMPr) and
Integrated Water and Waste Management Plans, facilitating all the applications for Environmental
Authorisation, Section 24G for the rectification of unlawful commencement, WML applications,
Water Use Licence Applications, and AEL applications.
Oversee and manage regulatory overall compliance of the facility including landfills and incinerators. Ensuring effective and enforce compliance functions in relation to the relevant regulations and legislation.

Hospital.
Successfully applied and granted exemption (March 2026) of disposing untreated anatomical waste to landfill by National Minister of Department of Fisheries, Forestry and the environment. This was due to the ongoing incinerator crisis that the whole country is facing. The exemption successfully eased the backlog and prevented the deviation for storing more than the permitted timeframe.

Modelling.
Qualification UKZN: Bachelor of Social Science in Geography and Environmental
Management.
