Shaur Mahabeer

An experienced supervisor at KPMG with experience across various industries in the South African market, I specialize in IT audit, business continuity, and risk management and supply chain resilience. I hold a BCom Honors in IT, graduated cum laude. My leadership experience and passion for technology enable me to add value to diverse projects, ensuring effective solutions and resilience.

I am a supervisor in KPMG’s Technology Assurance department, with close to 4 years of experience in IT audit, risk management, and business continuity. My expertise includes IT controls, disaster recovery, and project assurance, having worked across diverse industries such as healthcare, insurance, telecommunications, and logistics. I began my career at Ernst & Young in 2021 as an external audit associate, focusing on IT risk and controls assessments.

I hold a BCom Honors in IT, graduated cum laude, and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in the same field.

I hold a BCom Honors degree in Information Technology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where I graduated cum laude in 2020. During my studies, I completed a mini dissertation on the factors influencing the adoption of teleworking in South Africa. This qualification has provided me with in-depth knowledge in IT systems, technology, and networking, further enhancing my analytical and technical skills in the field.

I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in BCom IT, with my coursework completed in 2021 and my dissertation in progress. Furthermore I have been upskilling myself using inhouse certifications at KPMG.
