Community Service OT in Sedibeng District Health Office. I have provided both mental & physical health services for all ages. I am passionate about working with the geriatric community.

I am currently working at Sedibeng District health office where I rotate between clinics and hospitals every 3 months to provide both physical and mental health OT service. I am also required to complete daily and monthly administrative duties such as documentation & attending of departmental meetings. We are required to improve accessibility to assistive devices within the community which is difficult due to scarcity of resources requiring me to be adaptable to make assistive device such as visual aids, reachers, long handled wash sticks, build up grips and universal cuffs etc.

I work with a variety of conditions ranging from acute, chronic and maintenance phase. I am required to promote OT awareness and education on conditions through providing health talks and awareness campaigns. Promoting accessibility to resources within the community such as learnership and work assistance.

I completed my bachelors of occupational therapy in 2024 at Stellenbosch University (2020-2024). I completed modules such as physiology, industrial psychology, special physics, anatomy, psychology, pathology and OT theory and practical. In addition, I completed the Malumulele Onwards practical CP course on 07/03/2025 and an online course for strategies for difficult encounters in clinical practice by Medixeed.

I will also be attending Rehab lab skills trainings basic wheelchair practical course in the Western Cape on 15/09/2025-19/09/2025.
