I'm currently unemployed. I was working as a facilities mantainance service agent at Spark school. Contract ended in March 2025
I’ve spent the past year working on designing and testing low-voltage power systems for commercial buildings. Most of my time is spent assisting senior engineers with circuit design using AutoCAD and running simulations in MATLAB. I've also had the chance to go on-site to help with installations and troubleshoot wiring issues.
One of my most exciting projects so far was helping to design the electrical layout for a new hospital wing. I learned a lot about balancing power loads, complying with safety codes, and coordinating with architects and other teams. It’s been challenging, but incredibly rewarding to see our designs actually come to life.
Completed a National Certificate in Electrical Engineering (N1–N6) at various technical and vocational education training (TVET) college including Melborne College in Durban, focusing on electrical principles, circuit theory, and industrial electronics. This provided the theoretical foundation needed to understand practical electrical work.
Also completed a practical apprenticeship under a qualified electrician, gaining hands-on experience in wiring, fault-finding, and installation. This combination of classroom theory and workplace training prepared the candidate to successfully pass the Electrical Trade Test at Artisan Development Academy, qualifying them as an artisan electrician.
