High performing and strategic thinking Junior Geologist with more than 3
years' experience in the geology/geotechnical field in a mineralogy laboratory and open cast mine.
Ensuring control of daily coal qualities, weekly blending ratios, conducting grade control in the pit, calculating coal recovery and drilling coverage using Minescape and Microstation. Mapping highwall using Maptek software. Evaluating geophysics logging results and supervising exploration drilling: core logging and QA/QC sampling.
I am also trained in a slope failure monitoring radar to assist the Geotechnical department. Participating in the weekly planning meetings with all the technical departments. I have also been exposed to CPR reports, Resource and Reserve reports, and Operational Management System audits.
I am currently acting as a Production Geologist.
Worked in a laboratory, supervising collection of samples and the preparation of samples. Monitoring float and sink washability for relative density and proximate (Moisture, Ash, CV, Fixed carbon) and ultimate (Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Sulphur, and Oxygen) analysis. I have experience in evaluating and reporting of result and understand the LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).

Mining geology, geochemistry, economic geology, geophysics, mineralogy, crystallography, petrology, sedimentology, environmental geology, engineering geology, structural geology and South African geology.
