Siwenzamahle Dlamini

I am a young South African woman from Ntabankulu in the Eastern Cape, currently completing my Grade 12 at Anton Lembede MST Academy in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Growing up, I developed a deep appreciation for education and the opportunities it can create. My passion for technology and problem-solving inspired me to pursue a Bachelor of Information Technology in Information Systems, where I hope to develop innovative solutions that improve businesses and communities.

My educational journey has not always been easy. There were times when I struggled academically, failed some terms, and questioned whether I would achieve my dreams. I experienced disappointment and shed many tears, but I refused to let those moments define my future.

Instead, I chose to learn from my setbacks, strengthen my work ethic, improve my study habits, and keep moving forward with determination. Through perseverance, discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement, I have grown both academically and personally. Today, I am proud to have received acceptance offers from the University of Pretoria (UP) along with other prestigious South African universities.

These achievements remind me that setbacks do not determine one's future. Determination, resilience, and the willingness to keep learning do. Beyond academics, I have embraced leadership opportunities as a Choir Master, Dormitory Floor Representative, Dormitory Laundry Representative, and Choir Event Planner.

These roles have strengthened my communication, teamwork, and organisational skills while teaching me the importance of responsibility and serving others. As I begin my journey in Information Systems, I am eager to use technology to solve real-world problems, contribute positively to society, and inspire others who may face challenges similar to mine. I believe that success is not about never falling.

It is about having the courage to rise every time you do.
