I consider myself to be a dynamic and accomplished professional with a diverse career spanning over four decades across public service, leisure management, vocational training, and the creative industries. Known for my strategic leadership, community focus, and innovative approach, I have delivered results across a range of sectors both in the UK and internationally.
Beginning my career in hospitality and catering management, I held senior roles with Mecca Leisure Plc before establishing and operating my own food retail business. I then progressed into the fitness and leisure sector, where I held managerial positions including Fitness Manager and General Manager at Slough Community Leisure and the Thames Valley Athletics Centre in the UK. My notable achievements include the creation and expansion of the Synergy Fitness brand, increasing membership from 800 to over 5,000 within 19 months.
From 2009 to 2014, I worked as a freelance NVQ assessor and tutor, delivering accredited training in fitness, employability, and hospitality for several national providers. I also served as a Cruise Line Fitness Trainer and Spa Supervisor, delivering wellness programmes, and managing spa operations on board.
In 2014, I entered the political arena as a Constituency Support Officer to a UK Member of Parliament, where I managed office operations, casework, and electoral campaigning. My work contributed to significant increased majorities during the 2010/15 and 19 General Elections. Since 2018, Stuart served as a County Councillor for Lancashire, representing Morecambe North, where he championed mental health, community safety, and local infrastructure. And sat on key committees, including Fire & Rescue within the Combined Authority.
Alongside his public service, Stuart is an independently published author, having released three novels in the Hartbeespoort Mystery Series on Amazon. He is also an over-60s fashion and wellness model, and a qualified personal trainer with a passion for community fitness and charitable initiatives.
