I am driven by a desire to innovate and to bring content to life in ways that we never thought possible. Learning Strategist at Construct Education

February 2022 - Current

• Learning Strategists are thought leaders in the learning team, line managers to Learning Designers, and senior colleagues to project managers. We work alongside Project Managers and Account Directors to lead the successful delivery of projects in time and on budget. Our role has two parts: 
  • We lead the learning designers, ensuring that they are prepared for the work they will need to do, reviewing their work, and ensuring that it meets clients' expectations. 
  • We work with clients to hold the overall project's vision, ensuring that the SOW is clearly understood, that expectations are clear and realistic, and that the relationship with key stakeholders is healthy.

June 2020 - January 2022

• As a Learning Designer, I engage with the Learning Strategist to translate a course blueprint into a detailed course atlas that supports an effective and efficient digital course-building process. This entails: 
  • Reviewing course documentation and working with the Learning Strategist to collect relevant content aligned to Learning Outcomes by creating and reviewing content request documents for the client.
  • Creating instructional sound and engaging online learning experiences by presenting content coherently, creating relevant activities, and proposing graphic content and video content.
  • Populate the Atlas and write scripts, according to Construct’s learning and visual design principles.
  • Engage regularly with Production to create a course graphics guide and video graphics guide according to Construct’s design principles and process.

September 2019 - May 2020

• The Curriculum and Assessment Lead drives student achievement in the SPARK Schools network by ensuring that the curriculum is engaging and rigorous and that the assessment accurately measures student progress toward each individual's achievement goals. The Curriculum and Assessment Lead’s leadership in the SPARK Schools network is integral to the SPARK Schools’ mission to create systemic change in South African education.

January 2018 - August 2019

• The Assistant Principal drives student achievement as an instructional leader by providing excellent instructional coaching and professional development to benefit classroom instruction and the Learning Lab. The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in providing teachers, blended learning facilitators, and PE coaches the training and support necessary to be highly effective, professional educators.
