I ama highly motivated and multidisciplinary scientist with a strong foundation in zoology, pharmacology, and biomedical research, dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge through innovative and impactful research. My research interests focus on the investigation of medicinal plants with particular emphasis on their pharmacological potential in the management of metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes. I am passionate about bridging the gap between indigenous knowledge systems and modern scientific research, contributing to the development of sustainable, plant-based therapeutic interventions.

My research aims to provide scientific validation for traditional medicinal plants while addressing pressing global health challenges.

I rendered as a tutor in the above-mentioned institution to students who were at risk of academic exclusion. Most modules I was offering tutoring to were high risk modules with high failing rate

• Delivered academic support in zoology and pharmacology modules.
• Assisted with enzyme assays, lab reports, and data analysis.
• Facilitated student understanding of complex biological and biochemical concepts.
• Helped in conducting laboratory practical to undergraduates
• Delivering PowerPoint presentations and assisting students with basic computer literacy skills such as Microsoft and Excel

DIRECTOR - Rerayne farmhouse PTY(LTD) - Elim, Magangeni

Established a farming enterprise called Rerayne Farmhouse which is a farm focusing on mixed farming practices in the rural areas of Elim, Magangeni. I obtained the business management training certificate as part of the NYDA youth program to get the business started with funds. My roles in this position are to:

• Manage financial aspects of the business, by securing capital and managing the cashflow
• Administrative tasks
• Marketing products and services
• Processing of raw material in accordance with the standard guidelines and laws for agricultural processing

STUDENT RESEARCH AND INNOVATION OFFICER - South African Association of Botanists

I joined the South African Association of Botanists as a Research and Innovation Officer to help advance botanical science through research development, innovation, and knowledge sharing. With a strong interest in medicinal plants and their pharmacological potential, I saw SAAB as a strategic platform for scientific collaboration, support for emerging researchers, and promotion of cutting-edge plant science research.

• My main role is to facilitate the development of innovative research ideas, particularly in areas such as phytochemistry, enzyme inhibition, and the validation of indigenous medicinal plants for therapeutic applications
• Mentoring current and aspiring researchers
