Tamsin's journey began at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where she earned a National Diploma in Journalism in 2011. Continuing her pursuit of excellence, she is currently working towards an Advanced Diploma in Journalism at Tshwane University of Technology.
Her proficiency in digital content shone during her tenure at Eyewitness News (EWN), where she served as an Online Content Producer and Acting Sub-editor from 2012 to 2017. This period showcased her versatility and editorial acumen. Her impactful journey continued at the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) from 2018 to 2020.
Here, she demonstrated a firm grasp of social media tools and web platforms, spearheading innovative approaches to digital storytelling as the Digital Content & Community Manager.
In 2020, Tamsin embarked on a new venture, establishing tw. Inc, a start-up content and social media agency specialising in content, campaigns and community management. This endeavour not only underscores her entrepreneurial spirit but also reflects a commitment to driving narrative change and fostering community engagement.
In 2021, she served as the Intersex Programme Communications Manager at Iranti Org, bringing her skills to projects that contribute to important conversations on narrative change and social transformation within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Her role as Manager for Non-Accredited & Communications Programmes at fraycollege of Communications in 2022 epitomises her leadership and expertise. Facilitating non-accredited training, managing projects, and overseeing the development of e-learning courses, she played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape. Her responsibilities extended to outreach, marketing, and maintaining professional communication with stakeholders.
Today, Tamsin works as a freelance writer and editor, social media manager and independent communications and media consultant. She is also actively involved in a Community of Practice towards shifting harmful discourse in LGBTQIA+ communities within South Africa and the African region.
Tamsin's skill set is as diverse as her journey. From writing and copy editing to multimedia production and social media reporting, she seamlessly navigates the ever-evolving landscape of communications.
