Workforce Management requires a certain type of person. You need to have a passion for this role, you cannot be effective if it's just a job. That is what makes a person successful in this function. That is what makes ME successful in this career. It's not a job, it's a passion. The data tells me the story, and I relay that to the business to enable them to be more effective and efficient.
I pride myself on being both an excellent manager as well as product expert in whatever environment I move into, and hence will strive to ensure I get to know both the people and the resources that I work with.
I have won various Achievement awards at Discovery Health, Nashua Mobile, CallForce and Medscheme.
I really started on my career path in 1999, at Discovery Healthy, as a call centre agent. I worked my way up the corporate ladder moving into a team leader position, then finding my true passions of workforce management, both as a planner and then manager of the WFM team.
From there I moved into a WFM Software Provider company, PAYG IT providing an outsourced WFM offering to their clients. I then moved to Nashua Mobile as their WFM Manager. After Nashua Mobile I moved to a recruitment company, CallForce Direct, where I was first heads of operations, with specific focus on management of their call centre outsourcing contractors to the e-toll project. I was then promoted to General Manager of projects, and managed all the outsource temp contractors.
After CallForce I moved to DHL Express as their WFM Manager and I am currently now at Medscheme Holdings, as an Advanced WFM Specialist focused on efficiency projects and capacity planning for the business.
I started studying a BCOM to become an account in 1996. I completed 2 years of this degree before deciding I wanted to work in a corporate environment before deciding if accounting was the path for me. It was not.
I have realised that WFM and data analytics is something I love to do and as such I have been on courses that teach these skills, including but not limited to: Data Analysis via UCT; PowerBi Certification via Tealtek; Lean 6 Sigma through BMG, Essential Skills Training for call centres through Service Monitor; WFM training from PAYG IT and eWFM.
