Good day. A typical answer to the question of "why should we employ you?" would be that " I recently completed my LLB degree with the University of Johannesburg and I therefore seek articles of Clerkship in order to get admitted as an attorney". However, my answer to this million dollar question goes like this' being employed by an organization of high prestige like Legal Aid is an honor and privilege not afforded to just anybody, but only to those A+ outstanding students.
This kind of opportunity brings about many learning curves for an entry level candidate attorney with no experience whatsoever. It allows such graduates to be mentored by an excellent group of legal practitioners which have been practicing for long, it also allows room for growth, to learn and be instilled with proper legal principles. Honestly speaking, I am an average student who obtained their LLB with average marks.
However, I am also a hard working individual, who can adapt to change fast. Throughout my college years, I have learned think critically, to adjust well under pressure and how to manage stressors that comes with being in the legal profession. Therefore, when given the opportunity, I cannot promise to have a solution for every problem at hand, but I can promise to work harder, bring my A game, to do my research, to ask questions and seek help where required and to do anything required to get the job done with propersatisfaction for both the client and the firm.
My dedication and hardwork, and my passion for law has gotten me this far but my eagerness to learn, to grow under your mentorship and guidance will keep me afloat in this profession. So, in conclusion I would really appreciate your careful consideration of my application, to see me as being worthy to become part of your prestigious organization.
I am an entry level job seeker, I have legal drafting skills, oral and written communication skills, I am computer literate with Microsoft Office.
I completed my LLB honours degree in 2020 at the University of Johannesburg.
