I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical engineering in 2018, and recently completed a master’s in Mechanical engineering in February of 2023.
The key skills acquired during the study include, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) which was done in collaboration with ARMSCOR in Pretoria, Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS), microstructural analysis, heat treatment, hardness testing and fractographic studies of metals. During the study I successfully published 1 journal article, 3 conference papers and presented two abstracts of papers in conference proceedings. This is an addition to the dissertation I compiled for my master’s degree.
Worked as a junior designer at Jendamark Automation.
My master’s thesis was on the research topic “High velocity impact properties of as-built and heat treated Ti6Al4V (ELI) specimens built through Direct Metal Laser Sintering”. The study entailed the study of high velocity impact properties of Ti6Al4V (ELI) as a possible material for use in armour plating in both military main battle tanks and naval ships.
