- Strategic alignment: Setting up of departmental strategy and risk management plan for the next financial year
- Ensuring departmental business plans and budget are implemented in line with overall strategy to support business
- Ensuring the integration of the organisation's ERM framework with its business operations and culture and in line with rules and regulations for insurance companies per the prudential standards

- Recording and monitoring of the risk profile against the target risk profile as set out within the Risk Strategy
- Maintaining a risk appetite framework which sets out the overall quantitative and qualitative risk appetite levels and defines risk tolerance limits which take into account all relevant and material categories of risk and the relationships between them
- Development and implementation of methodologies for identifying, measuring, managing and mitigating of all risks against the risk appetite measures
- Overseeing the implementation and overall governance of the ORSA Policy and Process
- Ensuring that the results and conclusions regarding the ORSA are communicated to all staff for whom the information is relevant
- Ensuring that the ORSA is appropriately designed and implemented
- Facilitating the link between the strategic management process and the implementation of the ORSA insights into capital management, business planning and product development design
- Partnering with audit and other internal departments as needed to implement ERM framework
- Ensuring embedding of the risk culture and creating a risk aware culture within the organisation with respect to risk and decision making
- Effective monitoring of all material risks on an enterprise wide and individual unit basis
- Facilitation of the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Strategic Risk and Opportunities, Key Risk Indicator, Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) Workshops
- Compiling and providing the Annual Combined Assurance Plan to the business divisions and monitoring this plan on a quarterly basis and ensuring decisions are made in order to establish efficacy
- Proactive system improvements on Risk Management System to ensure objectives, targets and reporting objectives are met
- Monthly risk champion meetings (attending meetings, keeping minutes, preparing for meetings and taking part in the meetings)
- Monitoring of company and divisional strategic objectives
- Monitoring of open actions and ensuring these are adequately addressed and completed in time
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual risk reports
- Sasria insurance policies (renewal, preparation of claim forms, endorsements etc)
- Monthly review of the Fixed Asset Register to check for new assets that require insurance
- Quarterly review of the general ledgers
- Research on risk management and insurance related activities and new innovations
- Training of new staff during induction and current staff during risk workshops and through e-learning platform on risk management matters
- Member of various committees e.g. Executive Risk and Compliance Committee, Combined Assurance Committee, Health and Safety Committee, Business Development Committee, Policy Development and Review Committee, Corporate Social Investment Committee, IT Steering Committee etc
- Chairman of the Combined Assurance Committee and reporting to the Audit Committee
- Ad-hoc work e.g. evaluation of tenders, annual due diligence at asset managers, data acquisition project etc, quarterly submission of performance work
- Performing project risk monitoring and updating
- Ensuring quality of the risk data in the Project Risk Log
- Tracking and monitoring the effectiveness of risk response actions
- Assist and advice the Project Manager in producing risk management reports for the project steering committee
- Appointed as BCM Manager responsible for the BCM Framework
- Raising the profile of BCM across the company as an ongoing responsibility
- Ensuring BCM documentation is readily available to management and staff (with the aim of embedding BCM in the activities of the company; and enabling quick access to the documentation following an event)
- Supporting departments in developing and completing their Business Impact Assessments and BCM documentation
- Developing overarching plans to support divisional/departmental plans and assist and advice departmental heads and staff in deciding on appropriate actions and opportunities relating to risks
- Planning, coordinating and reporting on BCM testing
- Providing advice and assistance throughout the BCM process
- Liaising between the Emergency Controller (EC), Crisis Management Team (CMT), and if required, with the Emergency Management Services (EMS) personnel
- Post event, the BCM Manager will have at his immediate disposal all the resources available in the IT- and Facilities departments as well as the project management resources to enable business recovery operations to commence
- Reporting to the CMT Leader on business recovery progress
- Conducting the post-event analysis of the BCM policy, processes and procedures

- Identifying what hazards or risks that are attached to the work that is being performed and identify precautionary methods are reasonably practicable to reduce such risks
- Providing the necessary training, knowledge and supervision to employees to ensure their health and safety at work
- Ensuring that all employees comply with the safety standards and requirements and that they are implemented
- Ensuring that all contractors, maintenance personnel and visitors comply with the OHSA
- Ensuring that all staff have a basic understanding of OHS
- Ensuring that annual performance objectives are set and understood by team members
- Developing areas identified and career development plans in place for team members
- Managing team performance, ensuring that non-performance is dealt with accordingly and to achieve individual and organization goals and objectives
- Developing a skilled team capable of assisting Sasria with the achievement of its objectives
- Identifying resourcing needs and participating in the recruitment of staff
- Ensuring that the working environment contributes to improving staff morale and increased productivity
