About

Applied Mathematics lecturer with four years of higher-education teaching experience at North-West University. Experienced in undergraduate mathematics instruction, cross-faculty service modules, assessment design, and computationally supported learning. Currently pursuing a PhD in Applied Mathematics, with research focused on fluid dynamics, Lie symmetry analysis, group-invariant reductions, and numerical validation of nonlinear partial differential equation models.

Combines university teaching experience with an active research profile in analytical modelling of flow and heat transfer in filtration systems.

Experience

Lecturer (Contract) at North-West University (NWU) (2023-01 – 2026-12)

Mainstream applied mathematics: Delivered lectures, tutorials, and continuous assessment for APPM171 (Calculus), APPM172 (Linear Algebra and Calculus), APPM122 (Vectors and Introductory Fluid Dynamics), and APPM212 (Advanced Multivariable Calculus and Ordinary Differential Equations).
Cross-faculty service teaching: Taught foundational mathematics for students in Accounting, Economics, and Information Technology, including MTHS112 and WISS113/WISS123.
Professional programmes: Delivered mathematics content for MTHS176 (Mathematics for Law), contextualising mathematical reasoning for the programme.
Assessment and quality assurance: Prepared assessment schedules, examinations, and tutorial activities to monitor student understanding and achievement.
Computational integration: Used MATLAB and Python examples in teaching and tutorials to connect analytical concepts with numerical applications.
