The institutions of higher education where I worked for several years, exposed me to different scholarships of teaching and learning, research, donor funding and community service learning. The exposure in theory and clinical practice, forming basis for evidenced-based research, allowed me to participate in scholarly conversations transforming health care policy. On-going interaction with academic community through several platforms namely - students, peers, research reviews, local and international research collaborations, and presentation of findings at conferences, opened vast research-based opportunities locally and internationally.
The postdoctoral fellowship program in the School of Governance University of Witwatersrand improved my skills on advanced blended/hybrid teaching models - digital technology, strategic leadership, management and governance issues, academics research, community engagement, academic dialogue with civil society and politicians, and academic citizenship.
