About

I joined PwC as an Associate in January 2023 and successfully completed my articles in the Banking and Capital Markets division within Assurance. My client portfolio included leading financial institutions such as Absa, RMB, and Sasfin Bank, with a primary focus on Corporate and Investment Banking as well as Head Office functions. During my articles, I gained exposure to specialised corporate banking products, including off-balance sheet guarantees, letters of credit, front-office deal initiation and management, and cash management solutions.

I have also contributed to the development of a complex wear-and-tear calculation model for an asset finance client and acquired valuable experience in managing intricate intercompany transactions and structures. Post qualifying as a CA(SA), I transitioned to the Capital Advisory and Restructuring Services division within PwC, where I am broadening my expertise in corporate finance, debt restructuring, and capital advisory.

Experience

Manager – Capital Advisory and Restructuring Services at PricewaterhouseCoopers (2026-01 – Present)

As a manager part of my duties are to provide independent and objective advice to clients to enable them to make informed decisions, meet their strategic objectives, further enhance shareholder value and assist with reducing transaction execution risk, whether that be balance sheet or operationally driven.
As a manager I am responsible for building financial models which assists management in decision-making having considered a wide-array of options available to them and setting out go/no-go factors.
As a manager I developed a business development model which identifies target clients and ensures that a strong pipeline of new opportunities are identified.
As part of the financial modelling I had to create three-statement models which assists in forecasting future positions and assist in budgeting to inform decision-making.
As part of the financial analysis I am able to identify working capital limitations and communicate improvements to create optimal working capital structures.
As part of work I regularly had to break down complex financial issues and communicate to them wider audience (including stakeholders who did not have a strong financial background).
As a manager part of my duties are to oversee the various projects from cradle to grave and ensure that deadlines are met and that clear communication and structure is maintained

Senior Associate – Banking and Capital Markets at PricewaterhouseCoopers (2023-01 – 2025-12)

As a senior associate, I became proficient in using various Microsoft applications, obtained skills in working as a team and learned to apply critical thinking. I was also able to learn valuable auditing skills and understand how various businesses operate.
As a senior associate, I improved on my communication skills and was tasked with communicating matters to management and ensuring that efficiencies in the various business cycles were implemented.
As a senior associate, I improved on my communication skills and took on leadership roles within my team. This meant I was ultimately responsible for setting vision and direction for the project plan ensuring that the project plan was completed timeously and as efficiently as possible whilst embracing difficulties encountered as learning opportunities.
As a senior associate I was tasked with ensuring that quality across the file in relation to the audit was upheld and ensured quality underpinned everything the audit was doing.
As a senior associate I gained hands-on exposure to complex group consolidations, including the elimination of intercompany transactions and balances across multiple entities within banking and asset finance group structures. This has enabled me in exposure to working with multi-entity consolidation processes involving intricate intercompany structures, developing a practical understanding of group reporting mechanics and consolidation adjustments
Experienced in navigating financial reporting software environments, including SAP S/4HANA, with the ability to rapidly adopt reporting tools such as CaseWare.
Reviewed and tested IFRS-compliant annual financial statements for leading financial institutions, developing a detailed working knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and disclosure standards.
During the course of my articles my performance was continuously rated as higher than my peers.
