Tshiamo Monyai

I am a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor is Social Science graduate (Politics and Governance, Law) from the University of Cape Town who is motivated, committed, and possesses academic knowledge in Law, Governance, and research. I am a good communicator with proven interpersonal skills and a team player who is also capable of taking initiative. I have professional experience monitoring and reporting on Parliament Portfolio Committee meetings as a member of the Parliamentary Monitoring Group.

I am legal enthusiast, writer, researcher, and aspirant civil servant. My goal is to serve on as many platforms as possible that will allow me to make positive change in people’s lives.

• Monitor at Parliamentary Monitoring Group (Feb 2020 – Present) (Part-time)

I attend Parliament committee meetings discussing national legislation and resolutions, I record meetings and write detailed reports about the meetings. The reports are published and made publicly available to the government, NGOs, and the general public. I have written 14 published reports with excellent feedback from my project manager on several reports.

• Orientation Leader at UCT Student Orientation and Advocacy Services (Jan- Feb 2019, 2020, 2021).  

I collaboratively planned and coordinated three four-day long orientation programmes for the UCT law faculty to welcome first-year students.

• Debtors Clerk Assistant at Safricom Telecommunications (Jan - Feb 2017).

I converted the physical data of all the company’s accounts into a digital database, captured and filed clients' records, organized the digital database of all the company’s clients, and provided general office support including holding down the fort at reception.

• Bachelor of Laws, University of Cape Town (Feb 2020 - Nov 2021) (completed).

Recipient of Dentons fee subsidy for good academic performance in 2020.
