With proven experience managing large amounts of data in both IT systems and at the human data collection level, Tyson Sukhdeo has experience in research analysis and design, as well as data procurement and analysis.
Most recently employed in the capacity of Office Administration at Vorsprung Mechanical and Auto Electrical, where he carried out key administrative duties. Additionally Tyson managed client and supplier relations.
Previously holding the position of Psychosocial Support Worker and Homework Centre Coordinator at the Johannesburg Institute of Social Services, Tyson has employed both exceptional interpersonal skills and a proactive ability to assist many children with their personal issues and improve their academic performance. His introduction of a supervised homework centre shows Tyson’s high-level ability to identify weak areas in a system and take action to effectively eliminate such areas.
Not only a consummate counsellor with excellent interpersonal skills, Tyson also shows an aptitude for managing research and designing research and data collection and analysis skills. He has worked as a research assistant for a PhD candidate in the field of neuropsychological research, assisting with design and implementation of research techniques, and has employed his impressive IT skills in large data management in a technological capacity.
Tyson was employed as a Help Desk Agent for UCS Technology Services while still a student. Here he developed and applied data management systems for a number of administration sections and dealt with clients professionally and efficiently. In this role he was required to work both independently and in a team, utilising his strong personal ability to excel in both environments.
Tyson holds a BA(Hons.) in Psychology from UNISA (2016), a BA in Psychology and
Archaeology from WITS University (2012), where he achieved a certificate of first class in Research Design and Methodology. More recently he completed an advanced course in Counselling and Communication from the South African College of Applied
Psychology (2018), where he obtained his Master of Social Science degree.
As part of his MSocSci., Tyson has collaborated with MatrixMen to provide a real-world intervention for male survivors of abuse.
