I have experience in the implementation of electronic document management systems, this has enabled the seamless migration of paper-based information to digital formats ensuring that hard copy information is accessed remotely and backed-up.
The introduction of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) presented opportunities to broaden my information management knowledge, as I was nominated to serve in the organisations POPIA Steering Committee. This role also required me to compile reports to the Executive Committee (EXCO) and Board sub-committees and present them for approval.
I have drafted a records management policy, strategy, file plan, and user procedure manual which are currently in use and have been approved by management and EXCO. Compliance to this policy and procedures has been a key focus in avoiding adverse audit findings in records management related activities.
Over the years I have nurtured strategic relationships with various stakeholders in organisations such as, National Archives and Record Service (NARS), Department of Trade Industry and Competition (DTIC) entities,Human Rights Commission to mention a few.
