I am a hands-on, analytical and adaptable individual, having gained invaluable experience as I worked through the ranks to develop my skills and management expertise over many years. My career highlights include excelling as a general manager within a foreign country such as Nigeria; successfully owning and operating my own business for over 15 years; and also pioneering within the industry to become the first ever importers of Volvo Concrete Mixers to South Africa during my time as Director at Alro Concrete (2004). I take great pride in my achievements to secure many longstanding service contracts within the industry such as Lafarge and Prima Ready mix.

Responsible for all Warehouse, Distribution Logistics (local, long haul as well as cross-border Operational), and administrative activities in and around Gauteng, Limpopo, North West Province and Mpumalanga. Cross border to destinations including Zambia, Namibia, Swaziland and Mozambique. Management of the day to day running of Gauteng Distribution Centre including the staff and drivers. Financial documents, HR, staff training to an extent, stock management and sales of vehicles. Acquisition of new clients. Management of the 3 workshops (JHB, DBN and Cape Town). Staff compliment of 100+ at the 3 distribution centres. Originally, prior to Covid, was responsible for more depots and distribution centres. However as contracts and clients changed, so did the main distribution centres and became responsible for cross-border management as well.

Responsibilities included 90 long haul vehicles and drivers, 16 local ridged vehicles with crew and an average of 20 long haul loads per day to various destinations in and around South Africa and Sub Sahara.

• Liaise with various customers and clients for local and cross border loads (Customer base consist of Edcon Group, Shoprite/OK Furniture and Hi-Sense Appliances, ACI/Earthline, CoriCraft, to name a few)
• Responsible for overseeing that all cross-border documentation and clearance of loads are done correctly
• Liaise with Director(s) on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to report on activities, opportunities and challenges
• Fully responsible for all warehousing activities in the Distribution centre(s) including receiving stock, storage, packing and dispatching of loads. Weekly stock taking are conducted to account for any possible losses and damages
• Ensure good working relationships between management, staff, bargaining council and the Labour Department
• Responsible for the Health and Safety regulations in the Distribution Centre(s)
• Attend NBCRFI and CCMA Conciliations and Arbitrations
