I believe that my technical and management skills gained as a Printing Plant Manager and as a Product Manager in the print industry, coupled with a Bcom degree, form a unique skill set perfectly suited for this role in your organisation. I have moved through the ranks from a filing clerk to a printing apprentice, journeyman, manager in various positions, to a national product manager and this allowed me to view the production cycle holistically and places me as a unique candidate for this position. My experience includes hands-on production experience progressing to middle management and corporate management experience.

I bring with me over thirty (30) years of industry experience. I believe my technical experience gained through a hands-on approach is invaluable and my technical schooling background aided in my career development and career progression. Part of my functions as Product Manager for Arena Holdings, was to make regular site visits to various print operations in JHB and Gqeberha (PE). This gave me valuable insights into their operations and process flows.

Some of my highlights are:

• Personal growth as a manager/leader in leading and developing employees.
• In-depth experience: Human Resource, implementation of H&S as Safety Officer, company policies and procedures, including industrial relations and budgetary experience, factory and equipment regulations.
• Setting up a new printing operation and managing two operations simultaneously for 14 Months, from the building layout phase to the internal plant layout of equipment.
• Projects include installation of equipment such as at the goss printing press, computer to plate equipment, installation of two (2) new hydro-vane air compressors and 800kva generator, Muller martini Stackers etc. Installation of brand new Ferag Inserting equipment from Switzerland and successful commissioning in November / December 2011.
• Interacting with engineers from Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and England and America, as well as with South African engineers.
• 2nd Installation and commissioning of a new printing press in 2008 which began in March 2008 and was fully operational by end May 2008.
• Visiting Ireland in May 2011 to inspect printing press that Avusa purchased for its Eastern Cape factory.
