I am a Bachelor of Environmental Health graduate (NQF level 8) registered with HPCSA as an Environmental Health Practitioner. I have completed one year community service as an Environmental Health Practitioner at the Limpopo Department of Health. I have a code B (8) driver's license and own vehicle. I am highly knowledgeable about occupational health and safety and intentionally looking to develop in the occupational health and safety sector.

Environmental Health Practitioner Community Service at Limpopo Department of Health (2024-01 – 2024-12)

• Occupational Health and Safety: Identified hazards and instituted controls. Conducted risk assessments. Drew emergency evacuation plans for the whole facility and managed emergencies. Investigated incidents. Ordered PPE for the kitchen, cleaning and technical staff. Ensured that the OHS Act and Policies are available and implemented. Provided OHS training to 50+ kitchen, cleaning and technical staff on workplace hazards, PPE requirements and safe work practices.
• Food Control: Inspected the kitchen to ensure compliance to R638 (Measures needed to ensure food safety) and R146 (Food Labelling). Inspected the inbound delivery of food. Provided food safety training.
• Health Surveillance of Premises: Inspected the facility for cleanliness, structural safety, proper waste management, adequate ventilation and illumination. Identified health hazards and instituted preventative/remedial measures.
• Vector Control: Identified vectors within the premises, ordered of pest control services and instituted preventative measures.
• Surveillance and Prevention of Communicable Diseases Excluding Immunisation: Conducted Outbreak investigations and health education.
• Water Quality Monitoring: Took water samples, analysed the results and provided recommendations for improvement.
• Monitored proper management of human remains.
• Inspected the waste water treatment plant to ensure everything is functioning adequately.
• Wrote monthly Departmental reports of the general Environmental Health status of the facility.
• Captured information of patients with NMCs on the NMC reporting app, and also captured WASH FIT details and different types of collected waste including their weights on Excel.
• Monthly Presentations of Environmental Health status of the facility.
• Performed Ad Hoc Environmental Health related tasks.
