I am a pharmacist who has experience in a retail pharmacy setting as well as a hospital pharmacy setting.
I am currently working as a retail pharmacist at Essential Health Pharmacy. During my time at the retail pharmacy I gained important skills. Time management and organisation as well as staying calm under pressure and completing the required tasks are the most important.
Other skills include working with clients and building good professional relationship, patience, the skill to listen and process information to provide the client with a product and the service that they require. I learned how to work with medical aid claims and how to contact them to change claims if required. I learned how to manage schedule 5 and 6 medication as I was in charge of a weekly stock take for both of the above mentioned schedules.
I learned how to work on UNISOLV as well as government programmes.
During my time at the government hospital pharmacy, I gained new skills. Being the responsible pharmacist of a hospital has taught me management skills, it taught me to be organised and how to communicate with fellow health care professionals to solve problems and provide a service to the clients. It taught me how to manage stock including the procurement and distribution of stock. It also improved my communication skills.
I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic, young, goal-oriented and adaptable pharmacist. I am a hard worker and like to work in a challenging environment. I work well in a team and I can also work on my own if needed
I have worked for Essential Health Pharmacy group for 6 years. I started working for them after my Community Service year in 2020.
I was the Responsible Pharmacist at Bill Pickard Hospital during my Community Service Year in 2019.
I worked at Durbell Pharmacy in Tygervalley Shopping Centre while I completed my studies.
I obtained my Bpharm Degree in 2017 from the University of the Western Cape.
