I am formerly an employee of the Department of Roads and Public works as a Chief Quantity Surveyor/Head of Buildings Infrastructure. Please see below a brief outline of my career to date. I have over ten years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor mainly working on building projects within the Construction industry. My duties including; viability and feasibility study, Appointment of consulting professionals, Concept development, Building Drawings Design Development, Estimating, Tendering, Procurement of sub-contractors(ICDP’s), main contractors & agreeing on final accounts while also responsible with the planning and implementation of new projects.

I was also tasked with Property Management in the OR Tambo Region dealing with updating the asset register in line with GIAMA principles, using U-AMP”s and C-AMP’s as the basis of processing demand and supply. Initially, Property was part of Buildings Infrastructure and was segregated by creating Properties as a Separate program although within Program 2 of the department. This meant a Property General =Manager was employed for the Province.
I continued heading projects and looking after the surveying and quality aspect from inception to completion. Now working as a Chief Quantity Surveyor/Head of Buildings Infrastructure, I am getting an insight into dealing with various main contractors in multi million Rand projects.
