• Ensure all construction activities comply with the Mine Health & Safety Act (MHSA), mine COPs standards and procedures
• Develop and maintain safety files, including legal appointments, risk assessments method statements, SDSs and training records
• Participate in drafting and reviewing SOPs and Risk assessments
• Conduct continuous underground Hazard identification and risk assessment, especially for: Working at heights, Hot work, Installation of services, Confined spaces and poor ventilation, TMM movement nearby construction site
• Perform routine inspections in construction area to check: Ground and support condition, Barricading and demarcation, Ventilation and Gas conditions (O2, CO, CH4), Housekeeping, Guarding of Machinery, Correct PPE usage, Lightning and electrical safety, Safe access
• Report hazards immediately and ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Verify that crew have the required legal appointments (as per mine requirements)
