HR Operations Dashboard Re-architecture | JSE Top 40 company (under NDA)

• Re-architected a ~30,000-line monolithic HR operations dashboard into a modular, tested TypeScript codebase without changing how it behaved during the migration.

• Split the backend into 43 modules and 30 independently validated endpoints.

• Built AST-based migration tooling and reconciliation workflows so the refactor could continue safely while the system kept changing, cutting the main frontend component by ~70%.

• Proved the new code behaved the same as the old through 9 automated build gates (regression, dependency and golden-output checks) and live smoke tests passing on all 30 endpoints in a dedicated sandbox.

• Rebuilt a single-page site as a multi-route Next.js 16 / React 19 application in TypeScript and Tailwind, with six page routes, centralised content configuration and an MDX blog module.

• Implemented the full technical SEO layer: per-route canonical metadata (fixing an inherited-canonical defect that would have deindexed every child page), JSON-LD structured data, dynamic Open Graph images, and generated sitemap, robots and manifest files.

• Built a draft-gating system so page structure could ship before content sign-off. Unpublished routes stayed out of navigation, the sitemap and the search index, and could still be previewed behind a build flag.

• Owned delivery end to end: cookieless analytics with server-action conversion tracking, Lighthouse-driven image optimisation for Core Web Vitals, Cloudflare DNS, Netlify deployment, Resend email, and Search Console and Google Business Profile setup.

Insight Engine | iRobot

• Built and maintained features for Insight Engine, the enterprise platform iRobot's marketing teams use to manage user insights, targeted campaigns and automated alerts across its fleet of connected robot vacuums.

• Delivered a high volume of features, bug fixes and refactors end to end across an AngularJS frontend, Python backend and AWS cloud layer in a tightly interconnected distributed system.

• Managed infrastructure as code with CloudFormation, AWS SAM and the Serverless Framework across development, staging and production. This covered Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, S3, IAM and CloudWatch, with CI/CD through CodePipeline and CodeCommit.

• Refactored legacy code across a large multi-module frontend and interconnected repositories. This included pulling scattered frontend constants into one place and building a database-wide cleanup of invalid records.
