I have worked for leading national newspapers in the past 15 years. Among my areas of specialty are writing, editing, and proofreading and I also double up as a coach and mentor to junior reporters, teaching them how to angle their stories, pointing out their mistakes and encouraging them to be better writers.
Worked for both Sunday Times and Business Day as a general/labour reporter before moving on to being a copytaster for Business Day, where I spent five years. Next in line was a stint at Business Report, where I worked as a sub-editor for seven years before I started freelancing for Sunday Independent and Saturday Star. My next move was with the Sowetan, where I was employed for two years as a senior sub-editor before I moved on to join Sunday World as senior sub-editor/revise sub-editor.
