I completed my studies in B.Sc Dietetics at the University of the Free State in 2021. I am currently busy with my Community Service year at MUCPP in Bloemfontein. I am also responsible for six clinics where I do monthly visits.
The experience I’ve gained throughout the year has been mainly community based but it has certainly taught me to think wider and adapt easily. I’ve learned to think outside the box and also to individualize my educational skills to more than just the disease but also to the specific background and circumstances of the patient infront of you.
I do however have a great love for therapeutic nutrition and would like to gain much more experience in that specifically. I do however not mind in what setting I get to work as long as I can help, educate and give patients the power to have more control over their own health by means of nutrition.
I love a challenge and will always use it as an opportunity to better myself. I am a people’s person and find joy in helping others. I take great pride in my work and will never settle until I am satisfied. Altough I do not have years of experience or mountains of qualifications, I do believe you have to start somewhere and when given the chance I would do my utmost best for my patients and my profession.
I also have a great love for sports nutrition as I am an athlete myself. I am a long distance athlete and have seen the incredible influence that nutrition have not only on your performance but also during recovery. I am currently busy with a course on sports nutrition presented by the School of Sports Nutrition.
Learning something new regarding how we can fuel our bodies to acheive even higher goals is wonderful and I would love to educate other athletes in order for them to get closer to reaching their goals.
I am currently doing my community service year.
I have a B.Sc Dietetics degree, I graduated in 2021 from the University of the Free State.
