Zico Adonis

Hello, my name is Zico Adonis.

I am a hardworking chef trying to expand my knowledge in the culinary industry. I would like to learn new cuisines and techniques used in different parts of the world.

I have been a chef for 6 and a half years. My biggest achievement in the culinary industry was having one of my dishes on the cover of a local food magazine and working under Michelin Star chef Tom Aiken’s. It was a brilliant experience but due to the corona virus pandemic my venture was cut short and I was forced to move back to South Africa. I haven’t been in the kitchens since mid 2020 but I have been building my culinary profile through developing personal dishes as it’s been a rollercoaster trying to find work in South Africa.

I am very dedicated about food art and flavours and also attention to detail. I personally feel I’m a perfectionist and like a smooth operating work flow. I am also very opinionated when I feel it’s due.

I have been a chef for 6 years. My most highlighted job was working at the Edition Abu Dhabi as a Demi chef de partie under Michelin star chef Tom Akins. I have tutored English as a second language which provided me further skills of training and critical thinking as I structured lessons myself. I have experience in pastry, hot kitchen, cold kitchen and running the pass.

I have a diploma in Culinary arts, I have a TEFL certificate which allows me to tutor English as a foreign language. I also am currently studying a degree in business administration.
