Reporting to Managing Director / Chairman

Cluster Human Resources Manager at Emirates Grand Hospitality (2017-07 – 2021-12)

Managed cluster operations including Emirates Grand Hotel, Emirates Grand Hotel Apartments, Al Farej Hotel, and Tulip In Sharjah Hotel Apartments. Reporting to Managing Director / Chairman

Manage overall cluster operations of the Human Resources Department
Acts as Chairman's advisor on all human capital management matters of the group operations
Developing and coordinating corporate HR initiatives that are aligned with business and country strategies
Selection and recruitment of the core team
Guide and direct all facets of Human Resources including recruitment, coaching, compensation & benefits, health & safety, performance management and succession planning
Available for employees at all levels to advise, counsel and assist with problems or queries
Ensures all positions hold up to date job descriptions compiled by the relevant Department Heads & Operation Heads
Encourage a good standard of employee conduct and behavior and coordinate disciplinary procedure when necessary
Directs, controls and inspects staff accommodation and ensures it is of the highest possible standard of cleanliness and comfort
Coordinate and encourage sports and social activities on a regular basis
Oversees the hotel's HR database and payroll system
Obtaining work permits and required visas in a timely manner
Ensure the publication of any information on a regular basis by maintaining lively and interesting staff notice boards
Ensure appraisals are carried out for every employee at least once every 12 months and review all appraisals and follow up on development needs, if required
Ensure recruitment of high calibre employees to help achieve the business targets, within budgeted staffing plans
Provide direction, coaching and counselling on Human Resources issues such as performance management and employee relations
New employees go for orientation, administration process and procedures for all these areas are of the highest standards
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of administering HR policies procedures and HR practices including proposing budgets for staff and department allocations
Maintain and update information of Employee Handbook
Maintain high level of colleague satisfaction and team spirit through active support, direction and participation with hotel core committees
Maintain a high level of effectiveness communication throughout the hotel
Promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and morale
Good liaison with Government bodies on matters of UAE Labour law, regulations that matters to the organization
Establish and implement annual objectives, budget and programs for the Human Resources Department in conjunction with the strategic plan of the company
Effectively manage and maintain HR Cash Float to process all HR related expenses
Ensures that compliance of HR policy is maintained to develop and strengthen business internal controls and procedures
Maintain absolute confidentiality of Human Resources Division and the group
