My name is Kate, I have worked in the Aged Care Industry for 37 years. 22 years as an AIN/PC in both Residential and Community Nursing. I have been a Qualified Diversional Therapist for 15 years. I have a genuine love for working with people in varying stages of Dementia.

Being a DT, offers me the opportunity to enable our Residents to share their life stories and to assist them to live a meaningful life, where they have a choice of what activities and events, they wish to participate in. I encourage our Residents to play a role in our activities, from choosing activities, to assisting with holding these activities. This builds self-esteem and confidence.

I pride myself in designing stimulating, stage appropriate, meaningful activities. I aim to enhance their Quality of Life. We can learn so much from our older generation.
