POSITION
As a Project Engineer Energy Transition, you purchase materials worldwide for electricity grid operators in Europe. The unmatched know-how of the purchasing department, representing a value of around €100 million, and a portfolio of 20,000 active items.
Maintaining existing supplier relationships will certainly be part of your responsibilities in the initial phase. In the medium term, you will also take on the commercial aspect of the role. This includes approaching new suppliers and leading negotiations for the conclusion of new contracts. Our technical experts/buyers are responsible for product and/or brand development and are given the autonomy to make independent decisions in this area.
Responsibilities
- Requesting quotations, delivery times, technical documentation, etc.
- Preparing technical tenders, both for the technical file and price requests
- Commercially approaching and negotiating with suppliers regarding price, quality, delivery time, payment terms, certificates, etc.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding late deliveries, quality issues, missing documentation, etc.
- Gaining insight into the product range and the market in order to build a strong supplier portfolio
- Sourcing via catalogues, network, internet, etc. to identify all possible alternative markets and suppliers
PROFILE
- You hold a technical bachelor/Master degree or have equivalent experience, with an affinity for the technical field
- You are a recent graduate or have initial relevant work experience
- You speak and write Dutch or French and English fluently
- You are willing to travel abroad occasionally
- You are decisive, service-minded, and have strong commercial insight
- You work accurately and in a structured manner
- You are a true problem solver
- You have strong communication skills
- You are communicative and a team player
- You are eager to learn and stay up to date with new market developments
