I have been working at Graded the American School of Sao Paulo since 2018 as a Social/Emotional Counsellor in the High School. Prior to this position, I was employed as a therapist in a health clinic at a very diverse High School in Seattle (for 10+ years). Mental health and well-being is really what drives me, especially when it comes to young people feeling a sense of belonging in their educational environment. This past year I was selected to be on Graded's DEIJ Steering Committee working closely with Dr.
Derrick
Gay which has been a privilege. My contract is up in June, and I'm very intrigued to learn more about international school opportunities.
As my family is settling into the International School hiring season, we are researching schools that take inclusion and belonging seriously (which is highly important for us as a biracial and bicultural family).
