My name is Victorya Pimentel, and I am an International Relations Student at Getulio Vargas Foundation in Brazil, where I conquered an annual scholarship given to the best students reflecting my profound dedication to my studies.
I work as a research assistant at the Getulio Vargas Foundation, one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in Brazil. My responsibilities include the information gathering and analysis process, developing innovative data basis to assist the research process, and contributing to reports and presentations. I also participated in the EU-South American School of Global Governance within the scope of the Erasmus+ program financed by the European Union, through which I could deepen my knowledge of the research process.
During the course, I worked on an article alongside other participants, which helped me acquire abilities regarding teamwork, writing, and data research process, stimulating a greater desire to deepen and facilitate such skills.
Through my experience as a writer for the student magazine Gazeta Vargas, I improved my skills in writing texts and articles quickly, gathering information, and researching planning, which I believe will be helpful in the activities expected by this position. In this context, I was chosen to be one of the editors-in-chief of the physical edition of the student magazine in 2022, which made me responsible for the creative and institutional organization of all published articles, adding a lot to the development of fundamental skills for this project.
My proficiency in English, as attested by the University of Cambridge, my knowledge of Spanish and French, and my fluency in German will be a differential for my application. I believe that in this way, I can contribute to the project by raising new perspectives by researching databases in different languages.
Moreover, I had the privilege of participating in exchange programs at KU Leuven, Belgium's esteemed institution renowned for its academic excellence, and at Sciences Po in France, considered today the best university in the world for International Relations studies. These experiences resulted in the development of invaluable skills, including adaptability, intercultural competence, and an enhanced global perspective.
