Basil Hamilton

I am a freelance artist and illustrator currently in my second year at OCAD U. I have previous experience in customer service and education.

Most of my work experience is in customer service. I worked both in fast food as well as a park attendant and educator. My fast food position was at Bronte Fish and Chips. My primary role was to take and package orders as well as answer customer enquiries and wash dishes. My park attendant and educator position was at Crawford Lake Conservation Area and Archaeological Cite. There, my primary responsibilities were to provide guests with directions regarding park amenities, information regarding Indigenous cultural practises and displayed artifacts, and doing presentations and demos such as lighting a campfire with flint and steel and making cornbread. In addition one of my paintings was included in an exhibition at OCAD U in 2023.

I am currently in my second year at OCAD U studying painting and drawing, although I am currently looking to switch to the Illustration program. I am a very successful student (GPA: 83) and dedicated artist. I hope to further my experience in working as a freelance artist and illustrator.
