Detail-oriented Research Technologist with hands-on experience performing laboratory work and literature review to advance research goals. Skilled in identifying opportunities for technological enhancements and implementing effective solutions. Adept at leveraging new tools and methods to solve problems and enhance productivity. Drives team success with expertise in computer systems, automation, and materials characterization.
I am a research technology with experience in materials science, electrochemistry, and instrumentation. At the University of Calgary’s Birss Research Group, I developed and improved screen-printing methods for solid oxide fuel cells, synthesized and tested ceramic catalysts, and created a custom Python based syringe pump program. Previously at Momentum Materials Solutions, I worked with asphaltene-derived carbon materials, performed electrochemical and microscopic characterization, and built Raspberry Pi-based instrumentation to enhance data collection. Earlier, I developed standard operating procedures for thin-film coating equipment and trained others in slot-die coating techniques. My background combined hands-on technical work, experimental design, and problem-solving across both academic and applied research environments.
I completed a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at the University of Calgary in 2025, where I gained a strong foundation in materials chemistry, and analytical techniques. Prior to that, I earned a Diploma in Information Technology from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2015, developing skills in programming, hardware maintenance, and system integration. Together, these programs provided me with a unique combination of scientific and technical expertise, bridging the gap between chemistry, data, and instrumentation.
